Yob: New Track Streaming at Stereogum
Posted on Wednesday, June 15th, 2011
Stereogum / Haunting The Chapel has the premiere of Yob‘s Prepare The Ground off the upcoming full-length, which is called Atma. Listen HERE. (Or click here to download).
“There’s a reason the NY Times suggested Yob “may very well be one of the best bands in America…” Might was well replace the “may” with an “is” after listening to the five-song, 55-minute Atma. It’s a crustier, sludgier, dirtier, more in-your-face and sorta “heavy rock” collection that manages to feel both down-to-earth intimate and outer-realms airy by the time you reach the end of closer “Adrift In The Ocean.” For now, here’s standout opener “Prepare The Ground.” Grab a lighter — for multiple reasons” – Brendan Stosuy / Stereogum Haunting The Chapel.
Atma is out 8/16 in the US and 8/22 in the UK via Profound Lore.
