Roadburn 2017: Running Orders!

Posted on Thursday, March 16th, 2017

We know you’ve been patiently (and sometimes not so patiently!) waiting for us to unveil the running orders for Roadburn 2017 – and they’re finally HERE!

This is the part that we agonise over every year; it takes days and days to settle on a running order that works and makes sense in the context of Walter‘s artistic vision of Roadburn. It pains us that clashes are an unfortunate necessity of putting on a festival like this, but we hope that everybody is able to create their own unique experience of Roadburn out of what we have put together here.

Because we have Crippled Black Phoenix playing early on the Thursday afternoon, we have anticipated high numbers of attendees showing up for that, and made provisions! You will be able to swap your ticket for a wristband on Wednesday evening between 6.30pm and 11pm.

The box office will open again at 11am on Thursday morning, so if you’ve got time to kill, why not pick up your wristband before heading for your first Roadburn beer?

Roadburn Festival and the Church of Ra are certainly no strangers; they’ve left an impression on us, much like the one they have left on the wider music community. It would be hard to turn Amenra down at any point, but when our 2017 curator, John Dyer Baizley was so […]

As John Dyer Baizley’s curation has unfolded it’s given us an insight into the twists and turns of his own musical make up, and waved a defiant flag for those bands that refuse to conform or play by the rules. The final band to be announced for Baizley’s curation tick […]

Folteraar Are The Final Piece In The Dutch Black Metal Puzzle At Roadburn 2017

We already have Laster, Turia, Gnaw Their Tongues or Verwoed, for instance, performing at this year’s Roadburn, to illustrate the depth of the current Dutch black metal scene, but every time we kick a rock over here, yet another amazing band seems to crawl up from beneath the ground filled […]

If it wasn’t enough to have Coven play their first show in decades at Roadburn, and indeed, their first ever show on European soil, the stars have aligned to grant us a private audience with Ms. Jinx Dawson! Along with band members, Ricktor Ravensbruck and Milo Kovacevic, the high priestess […]

Later this week, Box Records will release Casual Nun‘s Psychometric Testing By…; five tracks of insane psychedelia and pure noise improv. The band will be playing one hell of a freak out show at Roadburn on Saturday, April 22, so we strongly recommend that you begin the brain realignment early […]
