Priestess Cancels Entire European Tour incl. Roadburn; Black Tusk Added As Replacement

Posted on Monday, January 30th, 2012

We’re sorry to announce that Priestess has canceled their European tour for Spring 2012. This has the very regrettable result that the band will not play this years Roadburn Festival at Voivod‘s curated Au-delà du Réel event on Thursday, April 12th. We definitely fell bad about this and  sympathize with any disappointment! We were looking forward to their  show too, as we’re fans, just like you. However, neither Voivod nor Roadburn can prevent cancellations, no matter how much we want to.  It’s an unpleasant reality we have to deal with.

We do have some good news though. Savannah, Georgia’s finest, Black  Tusk, have been added as a replacement for Priestess, much to our pleasure. Black Tusk shake the earth with high octane riffing, sludgy, gritty grooves and abrasively yelled vocals, while walking a frenzied tightrope between the fury of punk and the precision of thrash metal. They balance their sound between a crazed energy and supreme tightness and do it all within a familiar Southern- fried landscape. Yes, their music is big and bold, as showcased on Set the Dial, Taste The Sin (both out on Relapse), and at their scorching live shows.

Dripping  with raw enthusiasm, and a foul-mouthed, head-down, blind-driving  fury, Black Tusk will definitely put a large boot into Roadburn‘s knickers. We’re up for it. Are you ready for Black Tusk‘s stomp? We won’t be offering any apologies!
