Horseback Complete New Album, Titled Half Blood
Posted on Friday, February 3rd, 2012
Chapel Hill, NC’s Horseback has completed the recording on their new full-length and highly anticipated follow-up to 2009’s The Invisible Mountain.
The album, titled Half Blood was described by mainman Jenks Miller as “the band’s most ambitious record to date that represents a synthesis of the approaches we’ve explored in the past”. Truly a natural progression in their increasingly prolific catalog, Half Blood was self-recorded and produced by Jenks Miller at The Chateau in the band’s hometown. Additional tracking was done at Arbor Ridge Studios and Track and Field Recording by Nick Petersen.

Half Blood is set for a Spring 2012 release via Relapse Records and features stunning cover artwork from renowned Russian surrealist painter Denis Forkas Kostromitin.
The material on Half Blood is an amalgamation of drone, doom, black-metal, psychedelia, post-rock, noise, and ambience recorded with a wide array of instruments including guitar, bass, drums, keys, piano, bells, contact mics, field recordings, drum programming, noise and various signal processors.
More details on the album including a full tracklisting, cover art, and song samples will be revealed shortly.
