Terrorizer band of the day: Black Math Horseman

Posted on Tuesday, February 2nd, 2010

Find out why our good friends over at Terrorizer picked Black Math Horseman as band of the day: You may have read about “alchemic psych-rock” LA post-metal troupe, Black Math Horseman, back in Terrorizer last year, when we frotted over them mercilessly. Well they’re back in our hearts, having announced a UK / European tour in April to coincide with their appearance at the equally-frotted Roadburn Festival in Tilburg, Holland.

In addition to the festival Black Math Horseman collaborated with director Whitey McConnaughy who has directed music videos for Band of Horses, Red Fang, Mudhoney, and Gossip, to name a few. These videos were filmed live in various locations in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Oakland. Converse has premiered the video for Black Math Horseman’s ‘Tyrant’ on their website. Whitey filmed Black Math Horseman at night performing the track live in Los Angeles using a thermal imaging camera. Check out the video down below:

Album of the day: Black Math Horseman – Wyllt

Posted on Friday, July 10th, 2009

Lovingly pinched from Loudlooppress.com: Los Angeles’s Black Math Horseman live somewhere between the world of 70’s leaning stoner rock and modern shoegazers while adding 80’s Goth and 90’s post-rock flourishes. It’s a combination that sounds difficult to sell, but the listener’s patience will undoubtedly be rewarded with the songs on ...read more
