Wardruna confirm appearance at Incubate Fest

Posted on Tuesday, September 1st, 2009

Lovingly pinched from our dear friends at Terrorizer.com: The Norwegian band Wardruna will give a special one-off performance at the Incubate festival in Tilburg, The Netherlands. The ambient folk project of black metal musicians Kvitrafn and Gaahl will perform at an amphitheater in the middle of a forest on Saturday, September 19th.

Wardruna received rave reviews for their mesmerizing 2009 debut ‘Gap Var Ginnunga.’ Bandleader Kvitrafn (Jotunspor, ex-Gorgoroth) threw his metal roots overboard to make an album full of dark ambient folk. Lovingly pinched from Sonic Frontiers.net: It’s easy to trick yourself into believing there is no beauty left in the world. Most of us lead dreary lives, grinding away the hours behind a desk amidst a sea of cubicles, only to waste what little freedom we have at the end ...read more

Album of the day: Wardruna – Gap Var Ginnunga

Posted on Monday, July 6th, 2009

Lovingly taken from the From The Dust Returned blog: Wardruna has been in the corner of my eye for quite a long time now. Kvitrafn (of Gorgoroth and Sigfader infamy) started recording as early as 2003. Bits and pieces of his work trickled out over the next few years, but ...read more

Album of the day: Darkspace – Dark Space III

Lovingly pinched from one of our favourite websites: Ever been inside a snowstorm? Listened to televisions on max volume while they’re playing static? Been chased through space by a screaming banshee? Well probably not the last one, but the next best thing to that experience one of the most ...read more
