Roadburn 2012

Thank you all so much! We’re elated to announce that our traditional  Afterburner event, set for Sunday, April 15th at the 013 venue in Tilburg, Holland, is sold out. We’ve never sold so many tickets (2000)  in advance for the Afterburner, and we’d like to thank all of you for making this happen.

The Afterburner has become a full festival day of  it’s own with bands playing both the Main Stage and Green Room. Having this sell out is a great reward for all our efforts to turn Roadburn  2012 into something to remember. We’re looking forward to see all of you in less than 2 months!

As with previous years, there will be a designated campsite at De Beekse Bergen. Please note: there will be a 2 ticket limit (per order) for 3-day and 4-day passes.

February 22nd:

This year’s Roadburn Festival will include the world premiere of Romanian artist Costin Chioreanu‘s new exhibition Too Late for Rainbows. Following the success of his 2011 exhibition Where Purgatory Ends, a combination art show / musical performance / happening staged at various events in Alba Iulia (Transylvania), Helsinki, New York and Bucharest, Roadburn and Costin are equally proud to unveil the artwork for Too Late for Rainbows HERE.

February 15th:

Het Patronaat replaces Midi Theatre!

The Midi Theatre was closed by the Tilburg city council on 1 January 2012 for financial and political reasons. Unfortunately, there is no way to reopen it even temporarily for this year’s Roadburn Festival.

Fortunately, we have found a fourth stage that is slightly larger than 013′s Green Room in a nearby venue: Het Patronaat. If you have been to Roadburn before, you very well might have taken a break on the steps. Or perhaps you walked right past without noticing it. That certainly won’t be the case this year!

Located only about 30 meters from the entrance to the 013 venue, the beautiful former church annex can hold up to 900 people at any given time. The main floor can accommodate about 300 people. It features a large bar where you can relax and refuel with good food and drinks. We are planning some afternoon acoustic shows here, too: stay tuned for more details.

The second floor is where the bands will be playing. It holds about 600 people and will be set up for maximum sound quality and visibility.

February 1st:

We are very excited to announce the third installment of Roadburn Festival Introduces. The idea is to show promising Dutch bands that combine their own vibe with a distinctive Roadburn flair, whether that means a psychedelic slant, having roots in the heavy 70s or an unstoppable need to churn out instru-metal.

This year, we will offer TANK86 the opportunity to connect with the international Roadburn community during an intimate show at the Cul de Sac on Saturday April 14th in Tilburg, Holland. Doors open 1pm and the show starts at 2pm.

Roadburn Festival 2012 will run for four days from Thursday, April 12 to Sunday, April 15 (the traditional Afterburner) at the 013 venue in Tilburg, Holland. Pre-sales will start Saturday, November 26th, 2011.
