POSEIDOTICA
"The story of the recording of 'Intramundo' is a dark one, starting with the fact that we had to record it twice. In September, 2004, we did the first recording sessions, and on the verge of starting the mixing stage, all the files disappeared."

Poseidotica play a potent, all instrumental brand of environmental, heavy trance-rock. And their debut full-length, "Intramundo" [with Walter Broide of Los Natas-fame on drums] demonstrates how this band can alternate between swirling, heavy riffage, dreamy meditative excursions, and even incorporate jazz, tango and progressive elements.
There are many changes of volume, texture and pace. But all these elements are well balanced, and flow seamlessly from one part into another, taking the listener on a mystical journey through a futuristic / apocalyptical landscape, filling the imagination of what life in Poseidotica's native Argentina can be.

Poseidotica began in December, 2000, when Santee, Ignacio and I decided to join with Hernandus, a friend of Ignacio's from primary school, to generate some aquatic jams. We never felt the need to sing, so the instrumental songs grew organically, with a wide variety of arrangements.

Poseidotica - Intramundo In January and February of 2001, Ignacio and I took a trip to the Patagonia, in the south of Argentina. In this region filled with forests, mountains and lakes, we finalized Poseidotica's concept, and we returned to the hell of the city powerfully inspired. We then composed the rest of the songs that make up the first period of the band's existence.

The connection between the four of us was absolute, and we shared some great gigs together, like the Stonerfest with Los Natas in March, 2003. At the beginning of 2004 Ignacio moved away from the group, which was a hard blow, because he seemed irreplaceable to us. Thankfully, there was our friend Waldo, who stepped in and joined the band for the recordings and with whom we had a memorable show in Buenos Aires.
Then, by chance, we met Federico Bramanti, our current drummer. With him on board, we have begun writing for the next album, and already we have several songs, like 'Anfibio', 'Tiempo y Espacio', 'Maldita', 'Campo Magnetico' and 'Las Magnitudes.'

The story of the recording of 'Intramundo' is a dark one, starting with the fact that we had to record it twice. In September, 2004, we did the first recording sessions, and on the verge of starting the mixing stage, all the files disappeared.
It was a hard time for us, and it turned out to be an ever greater problem because Walter from Los Natas, who helped us musically and spiritually recording our first album, was about to begin a European tour with Los Natas. His understanding of the risky way in which we conceive our music, made him so indispensable that we rescheduled the rerecording for January, 2005 [during our summer].

Fortunately, the second recording of the album was perfect, with every part sounding more consolidated, surely due to the experience of recording it twice. The studio where we record and mix the album was familiar to us and also for Walter, and it made us feel comfortable enough in spite of the heat that we had to endure.

The hunt for the right sounds was intense, but the results were what we hoped for. Walter recorded with his new drum set, which provided a better sound. In four days we recorded all the drums, the bass, and also a good quantity of guitars. It took another four days to record and overdub guitars, keyboards, and many effects. Without the sensation of playing live, it seems something gets lost in the recording.

The mix stage took quite a bit of time, because we were meticulous. The mastering stage was done in April at Gonza´s [bassist of Los Natas, and a great producer in the local scene] home studio.

"Intramundo" was released on our own label, Aquatalan records, and now we started to distribute the album all over the world. During the recording of the album we found our current drummer Federico Bramanti, a young and chaotic boy that totally gets the concept of the band, completing the circle of energy that we were building.

INTRAMUNDO> On to the songs...

Hidrofobia
One of the first songs that we composed. It spawns from our fascination with aquatic sounds, and is rounded out with a progressive part.

Paralexis
Maybe the most furious song on the album, the feeling of human alienation, with a lot of cuts, ends with a groovy doom riff.

Acuatico
The first relaxed song, a climatic deep trip.

Poseidotica - Band Superastor
A mix of hard rock and tango, it includes a tribute to Astor Piazzolla, great musician from our country who broke the frontiers and created modern tango with electric guitar and synth's.

Las Cuatro Estaciones
This song divides the album in two. It begins with a speed jazz part of drum and bass, and it progresses to the heaviest riff of Intramundo, with an epic ending!

Aquatalan
Our first song that we ever wrote, starts with a moog bass, and a double string bass. Slow, atmosphere and hypnotic, at the end the guitars alternate between epic and rocker solos.

La Nave Nodriza
Our own space ritual, an interstellar trip, with the more emotive part between guitars and bass.

Tantra - Mantra
Two conceptual songs, the first with the finest guitar work of the album, invites you to relax, and the second closes the album with a groovy electric riff, and cuts the air with a surprising ending.
