Daredevil - "Four On The Floor" [CDEP HBM021]
Octane fueled, hard driving, metal crunching rock that is as much a nod to Australia's pub rock favorites Rose Tattoo & AC/DC as it is to southern rock bands such as Thin Lizzy is what Sydney's Daredevil are about. Current inspirations such as Fu Manchu, C.O.C and Hellacopters help the band present their old school influences with a modern flavour.This disc includes a Thin Lizzy cover. Artwork by the infamous Devils Candy.
Thumlock - "Rockin Course" [CD Single HBMS03]
One of the finest exponents of heavy psychedelic rock Thumlock have created themselvesa strong fan base across the world. As they currently record their new full length album set down for release early in 2002, the band are giving their fans a new single featuring a track from their recent album "Emerald Liquid Odyssey" as well as a track from "Lunar Mountain Sunrise" and a track from their now deleted earlier release "Dripping Silver Heat."
Dern Rutlidge - "When I'm Rockin" [CD Single HBMS04]
You know the band from their first single "Lines On The Table" which became a Triple J hit in Australia with it's slow burning grooves and catchy vocal hooks, now Dern Rutlidge return with the second single from their critically acclaimed debut album "Johnny No Stars." "When I'm Rockin" captures the foursome in full rock action mode. Brace yourself for some true rock n roll, Dern Rutlidge style.

Combining their wide array of musical inspirations, Log have delivered an album that in one corner draws on the influence of grind and metal while at the other extreme some roots and blues influences can be heard shining through. Add in a dash of sludgy doom rock and high energy rock n roll and the five piece have a unique combination of tracks that are delivered in a brutal, raw and abrasive fashion. Recording Updates:
Thumlock have now completed work on their new full length album "Sojans Lucid Magic" which will be released in February 2002. The band also look like they will be touring in Europe around the time of the album's release. The first sample from the release will be available from the High Beam website.
Wrench are midway through work on their new release which looks like being a mini album that will be out in the first half of 2002.
Shamens Ride have completed work on their debut full length album that will be released in April 2002. The first sample from the release will be available on the High Beam website.
Volume are finally near completion of their highly anticipated EP "Requesting Permission To Land". Look out for both the CD and vinyl version early in 2002.
Pod People are also midway through recording their doom masterpiece "Acent To Glamstonia" which will also be released in early 2002.

Valis are new to the family You already know that Mark Lanegan is now in Queens of The Stone Age and Tad Doyle has Hog Molly but what became of their old band mates?? Well Van Conner (Screaming Trees) and Kurt Danielson (TAD) joined forces to create the stupendous Valis. The guys did a low key release on the now sadly defunct Mans Ruin label and then set to work on their debut release for Lunasound due for release early next year, probably February.

"Meteorcity's next release will be" ETERNAL ELYSIUM'S "SHARE", says Jadd."After that (I think) our next release will be THE ATOMIC BITCHWAX' "SPIT BLOOD" mini-album and multimedia extravaganza. I received word from Ed Mundell that he has all the music in hand. Expect an early March release.
