DernRutlidge - "Johnny
No Stars" [CD]
"Rarely will you get an album that from the outset will
have you going 'aww yeah!' Dern Rutlidge's first long
player 'Johnny No Stars' is one of those gems" Will
Bond, In-Press Magazine, Australia "In the first 30
seconds or so of DernRutlidge's debut slab Johnny No
Stars there's only about three chords struck and they
just hang in the air like bursts of thunder.I wanted
in straight away. They had me.This is the sorta stuff
that latter day Cathedral did but at times got too bogged
down in cock rock and psychedelia to pull it off properly. No
such complaints here." Murray Engleheart, Remedy, Australia
"DernRutlidge's musical strength and vocal styling individualises
their sound that much more compared to other bands strumming
on the same stage. The song writing and recording on
this album is by far one of the best I’ve heard for
a while. In some albums their seems to be moments where
something lacks, where someone has lost an idea or they
just weren’t paying attention, "Johnny No Stars" has
no such moments! " Anthony Moore, Metal Shop, Australia
Monsterous Blues
- "High Octane" [CD EP]
"This ep seems to exemplify the diversity of this band,
with 5 very individual sounding songs, which all manage
to depict various styles without losing too much continuity."
Oliver Keefe, Halfway To Nowhere, Australia "Octane
increases the fury to red line with a fat pounding bass
line and solid grating guitar to pump the arms to and
deliver some much needed local Kung-Fu." Dieter Kraus,
Beat Magazine, Australia
Nunchukka Superfly - "There Are No Accidents"
[CD]
"Nunchukka Superfly is from the sort of sonic place
The Stooges were heading towards on the Funhouse album
before bathroom floors and clinical psych assessments
got in the way. It's where Can and Ash Ra Tempel meet
at some sort of cosmic equivalent of the crossroads
where Robert Johnson allegedly sold his soul. It's where
Sun Ra would be if the Arkestra's noise was routed in
strings, sweat and electricity as opposed to reeds and
windpipes. It's where former Black Flag guitarist, Greg
Ginn pulled out his most out of left field fret moves."
Murray Engleheart, Remedy, Australia "Daring, intensity
and not following anything but personal taste has given
Nunchkka Superfly a superb, complex, challenging and
original sounding album." Dieter Kraus, Beat Magazine,
Australia
COMING OUT SOON:
Volume - "Requesting
Permission To Land" [CD EP/10"]
These Californian space rockers will unleash five tracks
of heavy fuzz rock for fans of Blue Cheer, Nebula, Monster
Magnet and the like.
Log - "Ten Songs
Of Log : The Album" [CD]
Featuring members of Pod People and Shifter, Log play
their very own twisted brand of stoner/doom with short
and straight to the point blasts of abrasive rock.
LUNASOUND RECORDING

First off, the Gorilla
debut is being manufactured at the moment. They' ve
already been picked up by the Agency which is the booking
agent for the Foo Fighters, Pink Floyd, Orange Goblin
among many others so it's pretty exciting stuff. We're
hoping that it'll mean seeing the three of them tearing
it up at clubs and halls across the world in pretty
short order. Then you can all witness the live Gorilla
experinece!
The Black Moses
album is FINISHED!!! No one thought it would ever actually
happen but it's done. The mastering is all that's left
and then we will go into production. We don't have the
words to describe this one but it has a little something
for everyone. White trash soul in leather pants. The
band are about to undertake a series of low key dates
in the UK and then they'll be looking to more high profile
action once the album is released.
Roadsaw - Rawk N
Roll [CD]
Roadsaw's "Rawk N Roll" will finally have it's official
worldwide release. It's been remastered and had new
artwork done for the occasion and it must be said that
if it were to be more "rock" then we don't know how
you'd do it. The album is looking set to hit the racks
late September / early October and the guys should hopefully
be over to europe for a full tour at the start of the
new year. Looks like Backdraft may well be in support.

Begotten - "S/T"
[CD - MR 2024]
This is one of the HEAVIER records that has been in
Man's Ruin HQ. From NY, these two guys, and one gal
really deliver the Doom. Much in the vein of Electric
Wizard, Sleep, and The Melvins, this, as stated, is
one heavy motherfucker! Check it out!

Better Days" [CD - MR 2018]
This is the second full length release from these nawlins

RAGE
OF ACHILLES
[ www.rageofachilles.clara.net/
]
"From Umea, Sweden, The Satellite Circle release
their debut album on Rage Of Achilles. This self titled
full length follows on from their well received 'Way
Beyond The Portal...' CD released last year. Taking
thier sound to the outer reaches, with downtuned heaviness,
doomed Skynyrd grooves to psychedelic eastern mysticism,
this is a mighty Summer riff-rock session.
The long awaited debut full length 'Come The Mountain'
from Portland, Oregon's Witch Mountain was also released
on May 30th. Here, Witch Mountain journey to the next
level. The classic, heavy doom has been expanded to
new heights, tighter, louder and and more dynamic, honed
to perfection from a year of touring with the likes
of Electric Wizard, Warhorse, High On Fire and Goatsnake.
With powerful guest vocals from Erica Stoltz of Lost
Goat no less.

STRANGE TRIPS

]
STRANGE RECORDINGS:
Below is some information on our recent Strange Recordings
releases. These CD's are all good strong recordings
from board DAT or better, pumped up and made to flow
with nice artwork. Most fans who'll hear them will be
pretty pleased with what they are - a documentation
of some of the Strange Trips shows with good live performances
at a reasonable cost!
Harvey Bainbridge
- " Live 2000"
About 70 minutes of music recorded from last year's
Strange Trips Traveling OuterSpace Spectacular US Tour
and Strange Daze 2000
"The Harvey Bainbridge set is a typically spaced-out
affair with some long tracks, great synth layers, excellent
Harvey scene setting and a really superb album and a
complement to the other two Harvey CD's for sure" -
Andy Garibaldi.
Anubian Lights - "Live '99"
About 70 minutes of music recorded in Cleveland, Ohio
at The Symposium.
"Anubian Lights album is the best thing I've heard from
them to date with a flow, depth and edge that the others
tended to lack in favour of a smoother style. The mix
of East and West is fantastic throughout with atmospheric
synths, chunky drums and more excellent layering" -
Andy Garibaldi.
Farflung - " Live w/ Nik Turner
at Strange Daze '99"
About 70 minutes of music recorded at SD'99.
"The Farflung is nothing short of corking stuff - the
first five tracks are originals, done far more powerfully
than anything we've witnessed from the band to date.
Then they are joined by Nik for a run through 'Sonic
Attack', a great 'Brainstorm', a manic 'Watching The
Grass Grow', one instrumental I've forgotten the name
of, and ending with a killer 'You Shouldn't Do That"
- Andy Garibaldi
Anyone in the US who is interested can order them by
sending $10 + $2 S&H for each CD to: Strange Trips,
4485 W. 130, Cleveland, Ohio 44135.
