Starting out life as a Pantera side project, DOWN have now become a full time band for most of it's members. Down's latest album, called "Over the Under", is a hands down winner, and it clearly benefits from the extra time and attention that the band was able to put into it.
"Over The Under" is southern metal at its very best --combining Down's classic stoned-out hard grooves with a southern rock flair, and this time around, Phil Anselmo also turns up the intensity by adding some smoldering white soul to the mix.

Formed in 2003 by members of Iron Monkey, Orange Goblin, Bridge and Tunnel and The Dukes of Nothing, London based behemoth CAPRICORNS are here to provide us with a heady mix of bone crushing brutality and dark, subtle beauty that has won over fans of the heavy arts worldwide.



Now armed with their debut full-length album "Ruder Forms Survive" and numerous gigs with the likes of Melvins, Pelican, Jesu, Unsane and Oxbow to name a few, Capricorns are High Brow for the Low Brow, sophisticated yet never shying away from ham-fisted bombast because, after all, that is what drew us all to Metal in the first place.

The killing machine of GRAND MAGUS is here to lay waste to all pretenders! Fusing Doom with classic Heavy Metal, Grand Magus are testament to the talents of main man and mastermind, JB [also of Spiritual Beggars].



Their most last release "Wolf’s Return" [2005] is an album brimming enigmatic tales of personal vengeance combined with the ancient mythology of Scandinavia, a subject very close to the heart of the man in charge of the crusade. With songs and conviction this heavy, there is NO band around that conveys the spirit of heavy metal so purely as Grand Magus!

LITMUS just keeps getting better all the time. "Planetfall" is the band's second album, and while it's stylistically right in line with their 2004 debut, their first full-length for Rise Above Records is a real fasten-your-seatbelts adventure. Heavy... hard driving... punky, metallic SPACE ROCK.

TAINT are something of an enigma: Can a band so dynamic and full of surprises can really be called 'sludge', or can music so antithetical to boredom be justifiably termed "post-hardcore"? They have shared stages with Acrimony, Canvas, Cathedral, Consumed, Converge, Iron Monkey, Stampin' Ground, Spirit Caravan, Will Haven and more, while their recent UK tour with Clutch left many jaws dangling at the sheer intensity and fervour the band are able to generate live.



Now with their second full-length release, "Secrets And Lies", Taint have delivered one of this year's most powerful albums, and a wake-up call to British rock.

Having caused a furore that can only be described as medieval at last summer's Tapestry Goes West Festival and shared stages with Acid Mothers Temple, Witchcraft and Circle, the seven DIAGONAL men come to Roadburn ready to set the audience alight once more with their dense, funking jazz rock pyrotechnics.

Formed in summer 2006, Belgian's very own Serpent Cult started as a trio, writing uncompromising heavy tunes [think doom metal meets the heavy 70's], but soon felt the lack of a powerfull singer. In November 2006, after numerous auditions, Michelle joined their ranks!



Serpent Cult released their much acclaimed debut album, "Trident Nor Fire", in 2007, and the band is currently gearing up for the release of their sophomore album, called "Weight of Light."

Holland's very own The Devil's Blood [think Roky Erickson meets Coven, think New Wave of British Heavy Metal meets the Heavy 70's] is a stunning new psychedelic doom band, hailing from Eindhoven Rockcity.
