Pilgrim’s Forsaken Man Single Now Streaming at BandCamp

Pilgrim‘s Forsaken Man single is now streaming over at their BandCamp. These recordings document Pilgrim’s live sound from Winter of 2011.

“Hailing from the New England state of Rhode Island, this trio of young chaps plays traditional doom as if they were highlanders living out the centuries; at a crawling but steady pace, with melodiously epic riffs and vocals that lament the loneliness of immortality. Just take a look at their influences – Reverend Bizarre, Electric Wizard, Melvins, Nightlore, Saint Vitus, Witchfinder General, Ramesses – and you should have a pretty good idea of what to expect. I also pick up a bit of a Sleep vibe a la Jerusalem, which is cool.
These two songs were recorded live, and have a wonderfully thick, lo-fi sound with each of it’s elements in perfect balance.  My personal favorite of the two is “Quest”, which is carried by a gorgeous, melodic guitar riff before giving way to a mid-tempo gallop at the halfway point. For all the romanticism that surrounds them, quests for the most part are really fucking boring. But if I had to cross a desert by camel, I’d be rocking out to this”
