Roadburn Festival 2010 sold out in 30 minutes; Afterburner in about 8 minutes

We’re thrilled to announce that Roadburn Festival 2010 sold out in just 30 minutes. Needless to say, we’re speechless. After last years ticket mayhem, and raising the ticketprice from € 99 to € 145 for Roadburn 2010, we didn’t expect this to happen, and certainly not in 30 minutes. The same goes for the Afterburner, which sold out in a mere 8 minutes. Most of the tickets went to our true fans instead of scalpers and touts.

We’re really happy about this, as Roadburn is about a gathering of like minded people, and we will all bask in the heaviness of the riff during Roadburn 2010. We’re looking forward to be among our friends.

Roadburn 2010

Some people were able to buy tickets throughout Saturday and Sunday after Roadburn 2010 sold out. What happened? About 50 tickets that had been put on reserve by buyers were cancelled during the weekend, so those 50 tickets were released back into the system and some of you were lucky enough to buy these via our official sales points after the festival was officially sold out.

Please note: in previous years we have been forced to confiscate tickets that were purchased from an unauthorized sales point. There are dozens of ticket broker sites that are more than happy to offer tickets at inflated prices, and in many cases they are not even authentic Roadburn tickets. We sincerely regret that we cannot admit you to the festival if you are in possession of what proves to be a counterfeit ticket. Do yourself a favour and  don’t purchase your tickets from those who offer their greed as a service.

  7. kebo says:

Erm… We managed to buy 6 tickets in 4 batches at around 13:30 CET without any problems with availability… It could be that we were just extremely lucky but somehow I find it a bit hard to believe…

  8. Rona says:

It took 20 min of trying but I got them. Yes!! The Ticketmaster print out tickets will be okay, right? I’m coming from the US, so it would really suck if this wasn’t the case.

  9. Roadburn says:

that’s correct, according to ours stats some of those cancelled tickets became available around 13:30 CET. They became available in batches over the weekend.

“About 50 tickets that had been put on reserve by buyers were cancelled during the weekend, so those 50 tickets were released back into the system and some of you were lucky enough to buy these via our official sales points after the festival was officially sold out.”

  10. Roadburn says:

The Ticketmaster print out tickets are ok, as it’s our official ticket seller, and the ticketcode’s will be in the scanner that we get from them. you have nothing to worry about!

I was at the postoffice in Alkmaar around 9:35

Has nobody read the article before reacting or what?

  16. Freedope says:

Sold out? This sucks some major ass! It’s like Woodstock had only 200 tickets for sale. I hope all the lucky ones enjoy it anyway! Light one up for us losers who failed poorly :( !
And to the guys who organize it: Make it bigger goddammit, even the last mule knows that Stonerrock/Doom/Psychrock is having a huge comeback!

  17. Andrea - Italy says:

for the 5th year in a row we get tickets, sometimes in a simple way sometimes not, but Walter give us all the support and his kindness to help us to get them…
I recognize that last years maybe this was be more simple just because people was less than this edition and edition of 2008,but I’m sure that roadburn’s crew and Walter for first have made all what was possible for them to give us the possibility to be there next april.
With a little bit of sadness I remember 2006-2007 editions, people was less and I was younger than now, but that’s the way things are going ahead and there’s nothing to do, we only have to be lucky and faster than the others!!!
Cheers, see you in Holland soon!!!

Last year I missed out on Roadburn after having gone 3 years in a row before that. It really annoyed me that I wasn’t there but this year I was up at the crack of dawn to get the tickets. I even managed to get afterburner tickets! Had a bad stomach so was ordering them from the toilet seat on me laptop. Good times! Ha.

Can’t wait to be back in Tilburg and enjoying the rock.

  19. NUNO says:

  20. Brecht says:

Bought my ticket in Weert’s post office; I was there saturday at 09:00 but tickets couldn’t be sold befor 09:59. But I was also first in line, so managed to score 3 tickets right away. Can’t wait ’till D-Day folks ! :-)

  21. Hez says:

lucky enough to get a ticket TODAY! yeah!

  22. Ulrik says:

I tried to access the Roadburn homepage om november 28, but it was down because of all the traffic, so I just googled “roadburn tickets” and the first site that came up was a site called worldticketshops, and I got a ticket there. Now, this vendor seems completely unreliable, so I was just wondering if anyone has bought a ticket from them or if you know whether these tickets will be invalid? I did pay a bit more for the ticket than the official price.

Grateful for any info on this!
